Adventure Tourism: recreational travel undertaken to remote or exotic destinations for the purpose of exploration or engaging in a variety of rugged activities.
Ecotourism: a style of travel in which an emphasis is placed on unspoiled, natural destinations and on disturbing the environment as little as possible.

- Adventure and Ecotourism are both rapidly growing in popularity within the tourism industry and as such, new travel opportunities and careers continue to surface.
- This introductory class will overview the foundations of adventure and ecotourism and focus on trip planning and the investigation of related career opportunities
- The highlight of the class will be an overnight camping trip where you will practice "Leave No Trace" camping practices
